In 2006 the movie The Secret introduced one of the main universal laws of nature - "The Law of Attraction" (LOA). The LOA is the belief that everything we want or need can be satisfied by believing in an outcome, repeatedly thinking about it, and maintaining positive emotional states to "attract" the desired outcome.
It was an exciting time. This opened the door to unlimited possibilities and ownership over ones reality. ANYTHING was possible.
But for many, maybe even most, this didn't work. People were left confused, frustrated and discounting this most important, most accessible Law of Nature.
If a “law” is a “law” - why didn't it work?
Because the movie didn't address trauma. It gave language to “feeling” the wish fulfilled but what if your core “feelings” aren't in the best shape due to unresolved traumas?
Here are a few ways unresolved trauma can significantly block the ability to manifest by using the Law of Attraction:
Emotional Blocks: Trauma often results in unresolved emotions, such as fear, anger, or sadness. These emotions can act as emotional blocks, preventing us from maintaining the positive vibrational energy needed for the law of attraction to work.
Negative Beliefs: Trauma can lead to negative core beliefs about ourselves, others and the world. These beliefs create a mental barrier, making it challenging to believe in the positive outcomes promoted by the law of attraction.
Lack of Focus: Trauma can lead to a lack of focus and heightened anxiety. This makes it difficult to maintain the consistent, positive focus required by the law of attraction.
Self-Sabotage: People who have experienced trauma may unconsciously self-sabotage their efforts to manifest their desires due to feelings of not enoughness, unworthiness or fear of rejection and disappointment.
If you feel you've tried all the LOA techniques - Mirror Work, Positive Affirmations, Visualizations… it may be that you have trauma energy running beneath the surface.
